‘B.A Pass’ actress found dead in the bathroom
Police have registered an accidental death case after the mysterious death of nation award winning film ‘B.A pass’ actress Shikha Joshi. A 40-year-old struggling actor committed suicide in the bathroom by slitting her throat open mysteriously at her flat on Saturday evening.
Suicide may be the reason of depression as she had not found work in a while.
According to Times of India, DCP Satya Narayan Chaudhry said, "The incident took place at around 6 pm. Joshi would stay in the flat with her friend. She went into the bathroom and slit her throat open using a sharp object. When she did not open the door for a long time, her friend knocked on the door and Joshi opened it. However, she collapsed immediately due to excessive bleeding."
"We have not found any suicide note. The kitchen knife used in the crime has been seized. She was staying with her friend, Madhu Bharti, whose statement is being recorded. Bharti was staying with Joshi for the last two months. Prima facie, it seems that Joshi took the extreme step due to frustration." Senior police inspector Ravindranath Pawar added.
The film's leading actress Shilpa Shukla tells us she just can't believe that someone would slit her throat to end her life. "I reached Delhi on Sunday morning and I got the news in the afternoon. It's shocking," says Shilpa, adding that earlier that day, she had seen that Shikha had changed her social networking profile picture from a coloured photo to a black-and-white one with her family. "She would regularly update her picture, looking beautiful and smiling," she says. Times of India reported.
Ajay Bahl, B.A pass director told Hindustan Times, "Shikha came across as a very happy-go-lucky person when I worked with her in BA Pass. She auditioned for us and we liked her. She was a beautiful actor and I planned to work with her in one of my upcoming projects. In fact, she even came to my office three to four months ago."
She was last seen in national award-winning film BA Pass (2012).
