Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who himself a sports lover, has expressed grief over the death of 20-year-old Bengal cricketer Ankit Kesri, who died from an on-field injury.
“Too young to go…extremely unfortunate & sad. Condolences & prayers for Ankit Keshri & his family. May Allah bless his soul. R.I.P.” Shah Rukh Khan, the co-owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the brand ambassador of West Bengal, wrote on twitter.
A tragic incident shook the entire cricketing world after the death of Ankit Keshri, who had captained the Bengal U-19 team in the Cooch Behar Trophy.
In 2014, the world had mourned another on-field injury death. Australian cricketer Philips Hughes had passed away after being hit by a ball during a domestic match in Sydney.
