This year, Coca-Cola’s bottle celebrates its 100th anniversary. Coca-Cola is a popular carbonated drink sold throughout the world. It is produced by The Coca Cola Company of Atlanta, Georgia and is often referred as ‘Coke’ (a registered trademark of The Coca-Cola Company in the United States since March 27, 1944).
“Since its creation in 1915, the Coca-Cola bottle has achieved iconic status as a symbol of refreshment and uplift and it remains an important asset for various businesses today,” said Marcos de Quinto, Chief Marketing Officer, Coca-Cola. “The campaign, which will be executed in over 130 countries, is our invitation to consumers around the world to share in the specialness of an ice-cold Coca-Cola”, foreign media reported.
The Coca-Cola Company has introduced other cola drinks under the same brand name. The most common of these is Diet Coke with others including Diet Coke Caffeine-Free, Coca Cola Cherry, Coca Cola Zero, Coca Cola Vanilla, and special versions with lemon, lime, or coffee.
While the bottle has evolved over the years, it still retains that instantly recognizable contour shape. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the contour bottle, Coca-Cola has launched a special website and a year-long campaign that will include seven key initiatives. The special website also features lots of interesting facts about the bottle, its making and different ad campaigns.
