Apple the world’s best selling technology in consumer electronics is facing a lot more challenges from the competitor Samsung Inc. Apple’s iPhone which was the best handset and was a major contributor in the revenues of Apple Inc is losing its charm after the launch of Samsung Galaxy ‘S’ series.
Samsung Galaxy S6 has again pushed a war between Apple and Samsung with a whole new notch. Samsung S6 seems to overtake the iPhone 6 through its specification and apps.
A number of reviewers have suggested that the Galaxy S6 will be the so-called ‘iPhone killer’. The 5-inch Galaxy S6 measures 5.6 x 2.8 x 0.28 inches, and weighs in at just 4.7 ounces. The iPhone 6, however, features a smaller 4.7-inch display and measures 5.4 x 2.6 x 0.27 inches. (All n all both have similar weight apart from screen size).
The Galaxy S6 is a far better looking phone than its predecessor thanks to a new design, though the iPhone continues to impress as well. The iPhone 6 is capable of offering a few shallow virtual reality experiences when paired with Google Cardboard, but it remains a far cry from Samsung's more robust offering.
The Galaxy S6 charges twice as fast as Apple's iPhone 6, and with rapid recharging, can regain enough power for four hours of use in just 10 minutes. It also (unlike the iPhone 6) offers built-in wireless recharging. That means Galaxy S6 owners can charge their phones by laying them down on a mat instead of plugging them into the wall, foreign media reported.
Samsung is bringing the camera to new heights, now offering a 16MP rear-facing camera and a front-facing camera of 5MP. By comparison, for some reason Apple still thinks offering an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 1.2MP front-facing camera is only acceptable. Samsung is also coming up with new ‘Exynos’ processor.
When Samsung Galaxy S2 (the first in the lot) overshadowed the iPhone 3G with a huge difference, Apple came up with a smart strategic move to launch iPhone 4S to again take over the lost position, sales and popularity. Now Apple Inc has to come up with another unique strategy to fill the gap Samsung Inc is trying to create.
