Rumors making the rounds are that Korean tech giant Samsung are planning to launch a Galaxy smartphone featuring a three-sided display that wraps around the edges, enabling content to be viewed from any angle.
The smartphone will feature an upgraded version ‘Youm’ technology used in their latest curved ‘Galaxy Round’ handsets. If rumors are to be believed they are planning each of its side to operate independently.
No official release date has been announced yet but it is expected to launch during the second half of next year.
Meanwhile, Samsung rival Apple is reportedly working on new iPhone designs which will feature bigger screens with curved glass and upgraded sensors to detect different levels of pressure.
"We'll see curved displays coming into the market, but it's just a question of whether they will gain any significant traction with customers," Director of research at Gartner, Van Baker, said in a statement.
