KARACHI: Mrigdeep Singh Lambha’s upcoming film ‘Fukrey’ is reportedly inspired by the lives of the film’s producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment.
The story will revolve around the lives of four college boys played by Ali Fazal, Manjot Singh, Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma. According to Indian media sources, Mrigdeep Singh, the assistant director of Bollywood blockbuster ‘Don’ shared his idea for the film with director Farhan Akhtar, who allegedly fell in love with the idea as he found it very much relatable to his own life.
Allegedly, Farhan himself was a bit of a troublemaker during his college days and was reportedly expelled from college while pursuing his degree in commerce. His ‘aloofness’ to do anything in life was of great concern to his parents, until in 2001 he took the film industry by storm with his directorial debut ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, starring Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Khanna.
"It’s never late to realize what you want to do in life and anyone can achieve that dream once he has realize(d) it and works towards achieving it," he was quoted to have said.
The film is slated for a release in June, 2013.
