Sanjay Dutt granted bail

Published April 23, 2013 Updated April 23, 2013 09:15am

imageKARACHI: 53-year-old Sanjay Dutt reportedly appeared before the Andheri magistrate’s court on Monday evening and was granted a bail on a surety of Rs.10,000.

Earlier in the day, the Mumbai Court issued a non bailable warrant against the actor after he failed to appear in court for a case filed by producer Shakeel Noorani.

According to Indian media sources, Noorani made the allegations in the court that Dutt did not complete his film “Jaan Ki Baazi” and left it incomplete by cancelling the shoot and refused to respond his calls. So, he filed a case against the actor with the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association, which directed Dutt pay the producer more than 25 million rupees for losses incurred. Moreover, he also stated that the “Munna Bhai” actor owes him 5 million rupees.

Dutt was recently granted one month’s extension to surrender in order to fulfill his professional commitments. He filed a petition in the Supreme Court against its March 21 judgment upholding his conviction under the Arms Act.
