NAIROBI: Kenya's central bank said on Tuesday it was in the market to mop up 5 billion shillings ($58.8 million) through repurchase agreements, in the first trading day of 2012.
At 0840 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 85.00/20, unmoved after the announcement. The shilling closed at 84.70/90 on Friday.
