SANTIAGO: A magnitude 5.3 quake struck just off the coast of central Chile early on Wednesday but there were no immediate reports of damage.
The quake struck 61 miles (98 km) south-southwest of Valparaiso and was 4.4 miles (7 km) deep, according to the US Geological Survey.
Chile's National Emergency Office said it was a small tremor and there were no reports of damage in the area. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued no advisory.
