KARACHI: Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik on Sunday visited various areas of Lyari, the old area of the city having population of more than 1.5 million, to review the law and order situation after the suspension of police action there.
Sindh Inspector General of Police, Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Shah accompanied the Minister.
Malik also visited the commercial areas of Lyari including Lea market, Kharadar, Jhuna Market, Denso Hall area and got feedback from the shopkeepers and the public.
He assured the residents of Lyari and the businessmen that the government would provide them all possible security to their life and property.
The government would not allow any individual or group of criminals to hijack the people of Lyari and the surrounding area.
