DC Karachi Central initiates crackdown on profiteers

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Karachi Central, Dr Saif ur Rehman on Friday initiated a crackdown against milk sellers reportedly fleecing consumers not only by charging above the officially fixed rates for milk but also compromising on quality.

The Deputy Commissioner, as per directives, of Karachi Commissioner, Roshan Ali Shaikh focused on ensuring that people of the district necessarily get quality edibles goods at officially approved rates only. Dr Saif ur Rehman has also constituted monitoring teams headed by him and assisted by assistant commissioner Syed Shujaat Hussain and officials pertaining to different areas in the district to keep constant and strict vigil on unscrupulous attempting to fleece people under one or the other pretext. Meanwhile, Dr Saif ur Rehman has also ordered enquiry against concerned health officer found absent from his duties at the government-managed slaughter house in New Karachi.
