RECORDER REPORT
Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) has urged the Federal and Punjab governments to provide justice to wheat growers instead of levelling allegations against each other. KBP General Secretary Malik Mohammad Ramzan Rohari claimed that both governments were blaming each other to hide the corruption, irregularities and loot of their near and dear ones.
Rohari was talking to a delegation of wheat growers from Kasur District, said a spokesman of the KBP here Thursday. He alleged that both the Food Department Punjab and Passco were hoodwinking the wheat growers. He said that ordinary growers were running pillar to post to get gunny bags while middlemen and front men of arhtis, flour millers and parliamentarians were given bags overnight. He said these people buy wheat from growers at the rate of Rs 800 per maund to 850 per maund and then supply to official procurement centers on government support price.
KBP Secretary General urged the Chief Minister Punjab to provide justice to growers of his province instead of urging the federal government to observe equality. He also said that procurement centres changed over night in Kasur should be restored at their original points.
