Under the agreement, international institution will prepare the design of master planning of Lahore Knowledge Park. The process of master planning and conceptual planning of Lahore Knowledge Park will be completed within sixteen weeks. According to the agreement, phase-wise strategic and operation plan will also be prepared.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan can be made a developed and prosperous country through promotion of modern knowledge. He said that Punjab government has evolved a concrete strategy for equipping new generation with modern knowledge. He said that huge resources are being spent on the promotion of research and education. The Chief Minister said that the project of setting up of Knowledge Park in Lahore is of great importance and it is the first and unique project in Pakistan. He said that the campuses of renowned universities will be set up in the Knowledge Park being set up at a vast area in Lahore. He said that the Lahore Knowledge Park project will prove to be helpful in strengthening the process of research and education not only in the province but entire Pakistan. Shahbaz Sharif said that Lahore Knowledge Park project will be implemented speedily and the agreement made with an international institution in this regard is a good omen.
Ms Samita Khawar, Director Public Sector and Government Business of renowned international consultancy institution Frost and Sullivan said on the occasion that her institution will make every effort for completing the work of master planning at the earliest.
British Council Officials said that the project of setting up of Knowledge Park is an excellent step of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed, Chief Secretary, concerned secretaries, Commissioner Lahore Division, Chief Executive Officer Lahore Knowledge Park, officials of British Council and international institution were present on the occasion.
