YANGON: Myanmar is set to free prominent democracy activist Min Ko Naing on Friday under its latest prisoner amnesty, his family said, in the latest reformist move by the army-backed regime.
"He will be released this morning. The authorities informed us already," his sister Kyi Kyi Nyunt told AFP.
A government official said former prime minister and military intelligence boss Khin Nyunt would also be released.
