The sporting scene of Pakistan is buzzing with the arrival of the World XI in Lahore, next week. As Pakistanis are busy buying the tickets to the historic encounter New Zealand’s Grant Elliot is eager to visit the cultural centre of Pakistan.

Elliot, known for his match winning innings against South Africa at the 2015 World Cup semis says

“I've never been to Lahore so I'm really looking forward to that. I suppose, going to Lahore will feel like I am going home,” said Elliot, quoted PakPassion.net.

The New Zealander was of the view that the tour of World XI, would be a ‘turning point’ for the return of Pakistan cricket if carried on successfully.

“Hopefully the Pakistan Cricket Board can fulfil the same levels of security as there was at the PSL final and which has been promised to the World XI. This will then hopefully mean that these matches in Lahore will be a step or perhaps the turning point for international cricket to return to Pakistan.”

Elliot is the only Kiwi cricketer to be the part of World XI squad schedule to visit Pakistan, which feature the likes of Faf du Plessis, David Miller, Morne Morkel, George Bailey, and Paul Collingwood.

The highly anticipated Independence Cup, would be played between the World XI and Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on 12, 13 and 15 September.
