Babar, Hassan clinch top 10 spots in latest Rankings

Pakistani duo of Babar Azam and Hasan Ali, have kept their positions in the top 10 at the latest MRF Tyres ICC Rankings for ODIs.

Middle order batsman Azam remained on fifth slot in the Rankings, Indian skipper Virat Kohli maintained his grip at the top thanks to 330 runs in the series against Sri Lanka.

“Captain Virat Kohli has consolidated his position at the top of the rankings for batsmen after his 330 runs in the series, which included an unbeaten 110 in the last match in Colombo on Sunday, his second century of the series,” stated ICC in a statement.

In the bowling department, Pakistan’s Champions Trophy hero Hasan Ali dropped a slot to be positioned at seventh spot. Thanks to a massive jump by India’s death overs specialist Jasprit Bumrah massive jump in the latest rankings.

“Bumrah has moved up 27 ranks to a career-best fourth position in a list led by Australia pace bowler Josh Hazlewood with South Africa spinner Imran Tahir and Australia pace bowler Mitchell Starc the other two bowlers ahead of him.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan remains on sixth spot with 95 points in the ICC Rankings.
