World XI: England World Cup hero to tour Pakistan

Former England skipper Paul Collingwood is tipped as a possible candidate for the World XI team, which is scheduled to tour Pakistan in September.

“Paul Collingwood is in line to be the English representative in a World XI coached by Andy Flower that will play a three-match series in Pakistan next month as the International Cricket Council brings top-level cricket back to the country,” quoted The Guardian.

The inclusion of Collingwood comes after it was learnt that the World XI will feature South Africa’s Hashim Amla and Imran Tahir, i.e, due to be named in the coming days.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi, on Monday, announced that a three match T20 series with World XI would take place in Lahore, starting from September 10.

The PCB Chairman Najam Sethi while addressing media personnel informed that 15 players from 7 countries will participate in the tournament.

"Players from England, New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe have agreed to play the World XI tournament in Pakistan. India, however, has declined to send its players to Pakistan," said Sethi.
