Lenovo’s folding tablet that turns into a phone

Lenovo has recently come up with a device that has a bendable screen and can be turned into a smartphone.

Last week at the third annual Lenovo Tech World, Lenovo showcased ‘Lenovo Folio’ that is a tablet with a screen that can turn itself into a phone when folded in half.

Lenovo Folio is a tablet with 7.8-inch screen and 1,920 x 1,440 resolution display. It also supports an eSIM which enables the device to make calls. The tablet comes in with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and runs Android 7.0 Nougat, and obviously a bendable screen.

As Business Insider informs, the tablet contains hinges in the middle that allows the user to fold the screen, which will shrink down to 5.5-inch phone and can be easily kept into pockets. The screen folds in half with pixels filling in all the spaces where the hinges used to be and turning it into a dual-screen smartphone-style device. The user interface will also automatically adjust itself to work as if there are two displays.

The demo video showed that when Folio is in smartphone mode, the rear half on the screen provides a live preview to someone having their picture taken. However, what’s most appealing about this device is that the tablet could be used for working, reading or watching movies and can turn back to your phone.

However, the device is still a concept device that signifies that it’s still going to take time for the Chinese tech giant to release the device as a consumer product.

Furthermore, Lenovo cannot be counted as the only firm that is working on such tablets-turned-phones or you can also call it phones-turned-tablets. Oppo and Samsung have already been working on similar devices for years, informs Mashable.
