KARACHI: Trade Development Authority of Pakistan has advised the country's all current as well as potential exporters for the European Union to get registered before December 30, 2017 with EU registration of exporters system (REX), otherwise they will loose the facility of origin certification.
TDAP has informed the exporters that as per EU regulations for GSP- plus beneficiary countries, Pakistan was required to completely switch to the EU's REX system for origin certification by the end of this year, says TDAP statement here on Wednesday.
According to EU policy, issuance of certificate of origin by TDAP for the EU-GSP-plus, which is being actively progressed by the authority, would cease after this date (Dec. 30, 2017) and only REX registered exporters would subsequently be able to issue Statements On Origin (SOO) in respect of their EU shipments.
TDAP had planned to organize seminars on this account in the major export cities of the country to explain the details of the registration process.
However, the complete guidelines for getting registered in the REX system were available at TDAP's website www.tdap.gov.pk.
The interested exporters could also contact on 021-99205769 for more details.
