KARACHI: On the third day of Eid ul Fitr, Karachi received a heavy downpour with gusty winds on Wednesday evening.
Rain water accumulated in some areas of downtown Karachi as well as in low lying areas in the city.
A number of families were seen on the roads in Karachi enjoy the rain that also turned the weather pleasant. Before the start of the rain, the maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 38.5.
For the past several days, the city was experiencing hot weather. There were also reports of power outage from some parts of the metropolis including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Clifton, Shah Faisal Colony and Malir.
The motorcyclists experienced difficulties in the wake of the rain in the city. Soon after rain, public transport was disappeared from the roads.
Meanwhile, the Met Office has forecasted rain/thunderstorm for Karachi during the next 24 hours.
There was rain on Wednesday evening at I.I. Chundrigar Road, Airport area, Malir, University Road, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Gulshan-i-Hadeed, F.B area,Saddar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Landhi etc.
