KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, A.D. Khawaja Saturday reviewed the Eid ul Fitr security plan by the Karachi police.
A police spokesman said that the IGP also issued directives that foolproof security arrangements be made on the occasion.
The IGP instructed that before the Namaz-e-Eid the process of sweeping and clearance of main mosques, Imambargahs, Eidgahs and open places be ensured.
It was directed that it be ensured that the security should be well coordinated and effective.
According to police reports, 9,135 police officers and jawans would be deputed for duty for the Eid congregations in Karachi East, West and South zones. The IGP directed that there should be random snap checking, patrolling and other necessary security measures on this occasion.
He said that arrangements be also made for ensuring smooth flow of traffic as well.
