At Europe's car research centers billions are expended to make tomorrow's automobile safer, more economical, lighter and less damaging to the environment. Speedy application of research results in marketable products is the key to success.

Dominik Obertreis, hailing from Cologne, born in 1960, studies photography in Darmastadt. He is working extensively on DPA during his studies. He has been self-employed in Hamburg since 1989 and has done many reports for national and international magazines like Geo, Sports, Merian, Stem, National Geographic and Grands Reportage.

In the meantime, the main focus of his work is in the staged and journalistic advertising photography. He lives with his wife and three children at Stuttgart. His work has been awarded several World Press Awards.
