KARACHI: Pakistan star all rounder Shahid Khan Afridi has shunned Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) farewell offers owing to ‘personal commitments,’ it was learnt on Friday.
The former captain took to social media, to inform about his decision.
“Thank you for the meeting and farewell offers Najam Sethi. Unfortunately due to my commitments I won't be able to take them,†Afridi tweeted.

Najam Sethi and Shahid Afridi discussed farewell plans and possibilities of future contribution in a rendezvous on Sunday.
Afridi appreciated the new trend of giving farewells to the retiring cricketers, in the second tweet he said, “My desire was to set a new trend. I'm very happy that Misbah and Younis are getting proper farewells. I hope this trend will continue in future.â€

The PCB, however is adamant to arrange a 'grand farewell' for Afridi along with Misbah and Younis, the '3 Heroes' of Pakistan cricket, announced PCB Executive Committee Chairman Najam Sethi on social media.
"We respect @SAfridiOfficial decision not to play Farewell match. PCB will organise grand farewell for Lala like Misbah and Younas. 3 Heroes!"
