WARSAW: Poland's central budget deficit reached 2.3 billion zlotys ($591.23 million), or 3.8 percent of the full-year plan, in the first quarter, the finance ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The ministry also said that first quarter value added tax (VAT) revenue rose by 41 percent year-on-year, helping total budget revenue increase by 23.8 percent year-on-year.
In turn, budget expenditure rose by 1.3 percent in the first quarter, the ministry said.
