umar-kamran-1024Pakistan opening batsman Kamran Akmal has been drop out of the 15-man national squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.

Pakistan would announce the 15-member national squad for the Champions Trophy in one to two days.

However, as per media reports it has been learnt that the selectors have decided to drop Kamran Akmal, while younger sibling Umar Akmal has been selected in the squad as a power-hitter, reported Express News.

The Champions Trophy scheduled to begin in England in June. The national selection committee would announce the 15-man squad, but due to strong showing by some players in the recently held ODI Cup in Rawalpindi, the selectors have been forced to reconsider their planning.

Meanwhile, Pakistan team is playing against the West Indies, the visitors have already won the T20I and One Day International series, and is eyeing to repeat the same in Tests as well.
