Pakistan, India should play ‘regularly’: Misbah ul Haq

Test skipper Misbah ul Haq has stated that India should play Pakistan on regular basis.

“I think it’s important that Pakistan and India play together regularly,” said Misbah, while talking to media persons.

The Indian Home Ministry had earlier ruled out the chances of renewal of cricketing ties with Pakistan, saying that a bilateral series is impossible ‘in the current circumstances.’

This came after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) letter to the home ministry, seeking permission for a bilateral series against Pakistan at the neutral venue later this year.

Meanwhile, Misbah opined that the series is important because cricket fans enjoy the Pakistan, India matches due to their ‘competitive nature.’

Speaking about the recent performance by Pakistan in limited overs, Misbah said that it’s a ‘young team’ and there are high expectations from them. He was optimistic that the team is capable of ‘surprising results.’

“I hope that the Pakistan team will perform better and gain experience. I hope they will perform well in England and lift the trophy (ICC Champions Trophy).”
