The captain of Pakistan Super League (PSL) champion Peshawar Zalmi, Darren Sammy may embrace Islam soon, this was announced by Zalmi owner Javed Afridi.
While talking to media, AfrIdi said that the two time T20 World Cup winning captain, maintains good knowledge about Islam and is keen on studying it further.
Lets all pray Sammy converts to Islam, said Javed Afridi. He said that it a big achievement for him that the World Cup winning skipper is showing interest in Islam.
Darren Sammy captained Peshawar Zalmi in second edition of PSL and led his side to become the champions for the first time, after beating the Quetta Gladiators.
Sammy is held in high esteem in Pakistan, and around the world for his zestful nature and passion towards the sports. He also maintains good relations with Zalmi owner Javed Afridi and former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi.
Previously, Sammy fulfilled his promise and shaved his head after winning the finals.
Javed Afridi Zalmis were the only side to bring their original lot of international players including: Darren Sammy, Marlon Samuels and other overseas players of his team to Pakistan for the PSL final that was played on March 5 at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
