Islam will be world's largest religion by 2050

A new report by Pew Research Centre has said that Islam will become the largest religion in the world by 2050.

The report also said that Muslims form the fastest-growing religious group in the world. From 2010 to 2050, their population is estimated to grow by 73 percent, according to the report.

The report says there will be 311 million Muslims in India by 2050, a population which will constitute 11 percent of the global trend. The research also says that India will continue to house the largest number of Hindus in the world, with their population rising to 1.3 billion. Currently, Indonesia has the largest Muslim population.

Pew Research Centre had also published a report last year in which it had been stated that India will overtake Indonesia as the country with the largest Muslim population, according to a new study.

Pew Research has said that in its report that Muslims are the fastest growing religion groups in the world. The research centre has highlighted that Muslim population to increase than the world population as whole.

The Muslim population is expected to rise faster from 14.4percent in 2010 to 18.4 percent of the total population in 2050
