LAHORE: The final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be held on March 5th in Lahore, after a green signal by the government of Punjab on Monday.
The decision comes after a meeting headed by Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, which included representatives from all provincial and federal security agencies.
The provincial government has decided to provide foolproof security arrangements for the final during the meeting.
"InshaAllah cricket would return to Pakistan," stated PSL Chairman Najam Sethi, while talking to media. He informed that international security experts from eight countries would come to Lahore for the PSL finals.
"We have to wait till March 3 to know which foreign players will travel to Lahore, as we still do not know which two teams will qualify," he said. The sales of tickets for the PSL final would begin from tomorrow (Tuesday), he added.
Four out the five franchises have qualified for the playoff stage which begins from Feb 28.
Sarfraz led Quetta Gladiators would take on Peshawar Zalmi in the first play-off and the winner will directly make into the finals. Meanwhile, the second play-off will be played between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United.
