ISLAMABAD: Minor maid Tayyabas father has withdrawn case against former additional session judge Raja Khurrum Ali and his wife Maheen.
A bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) heard Tayyaba torture case on Friday. In the hearing, Tayyabas father Azam submitted reconciliation papers and informed the court that he didnt want to continue the case further.
During the hearing, Azam told the court that he has forgiven former additional session judge and his wife for torturing Tayyaba. He said case against them is baseless and that he would not have any objection if the accused get bail.
According to latest reports, I forgive the judge and his wife in complete consciousness," Tayyaba's father Azam told the court. "I had come under the pressure of Supreme Court."
The judge asked the victims father to remain calm as he had given the same statement before but retracted in Supreme Court (SC) over which Azam said that he was under pressure at that time however, he forgives the culprits now.
Additional Sessions Judge Raja Asif told Azam he backed out on his statement earlier as well, saying he did not have to be scared as the court would protect him. But Azam assured that he can even give his statement in written form.
It should be noted that Tayyaba torture case came into light when pictures the 10-year old went viral on social media with internet users claiming that the maid works at additional session judge Khurram Ali Khans house and was subjected to severe torture by the family she worked for. A medical report for 10-year-old Tayyaba states that there were 20 torture marks on her body.
