imageBAHAWALNAGAR: Unknown men opened fire at a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) protest rally on Monday injuring party leader Shaukat Basra and three others while a man was killed in the attack on the sit-in.

According to local media reports, PPP Punjab leader Shaukat Basra is among the wounded as he was participating in a protest demonstration that was organized in Bahawalnagars Haroonabad area.

Basra was attending the rally along with PPP workers at Haroonabad Chowk. The PPP leader was injured, while his secretary lost his life, according to police.

Talking to the media, PPPs central leader Qamar Zaman Kaira condemned the attack. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also condemned the attack and held the attack as brazen act of terrorism.

Meanwhile, PPP leader Afzal Chan blamed PML-N goons for the attack.
