imageLAHORE: World Bank Advisor Regional Economic Corporation for South Asia, Haroon Sharif called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at latter's office here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said economy has strengthened due to economic reforms of present government of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and international institutions have acknowledged increasing growth rate of Pakistani economy.

Shahbaz Sharif said that present government has adopted policy of zero tolerance against the corruption, adding that effective measures have been adopted for the eradication of corruption under Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. He said government?s war against corruption has been appreciated at local and international level.

The Chief Minister said culture of standard, speed and transparency has been promoted in the projects and national resources of billions of rupees have been saved and are being spent on the provision of quality facilities to the masses.

He said Punjab government has computerized land record of 5.5 crore rural population and assistance of World Bank is appreciable in this regard.

Land Record Authority has also been set up in this regard while Punjab government is launching computerization programme of urban land.

He said that Punjab government is thankful to the World Bank for its support in bringing about revolutionary changes in the education, health and social sectors.
