imagePakistan tainted fast bowler Muhammad Asif, slammed the notion that he and former captain Salman Butt lured Mohammad Amir into spot-fixing in 2010 in England.

Asif whose cricket career sunk after he was banned for five years from the game in 2010, for being involved in the infamous spot fixing scandal, along with then skipper Salman Butt and fellow fast bowler Muhammad Amir.

"That is totally wrong. It is double standards to me. If three people have committed a crime you say two are guilty one is innocent."

"How can that be possible. Mohammad Amir had come from the grass root level to the top level and he knew everything about life. It is unfair to say we were responsible for him getting into the spot," said Asif, reported PTI.

Asif further criticized the cricketing authorities for not giving him another chance to play international cricket again despite serving the punishment.

"Look I know what we did was wrong and a crime and we regret it and we have apologised for what we did. We have served our time. The ICC has said it has no problems with us playing international cricket so what is the problem?"
