The game of cricket is the most madly followed game in the Indo-Pak region and for every ardent lover of the game idolizing and loving the games greats is natural, and is without any border constraints.
However, this was not the case in the Indian state of Assam, where a die-hard fan of Pakistan star All-Rounder Shahid Afridi was arrested for wearing Pakistan team jersey, during a cricket match in Hailakandi, Assam.
As per the Zee News, Ripon Chowdhury a young lad was arrested on Saturday by local police following a complaint filed by the youth wing of the ruling extremist Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
It was further learnt that a FIR was also filed against him under section 120 (B), 294 of the Indian Penal Code.
According to The Assam News the youth wing by the name Bhartiya Yuva Morcha committee lodged the FIR against Ripon, saying he had indulged in an anti-national act.
The unfortunate incident is yet again a reminder of the persistent tensions between the neighboring Pakistan and India.
