imageISLAMABAD: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch on Friday said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership deserved appreciation for evolving consensus on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route.

Talking to a news channel, he said building consensus on the project route was a major breakthrough achieved in the second All Parties Conference (APC) held here. "Its credit goes to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. I laud the PML-N leadership for resolving the issue and addressing reservations of political parties over the project," he said.

In the APC, Dr Malik said, the parliamentary leaders of all political parties including President National Party Mir Hasil Khan Bazinjo had extended complete support and practical cooperation to the federal government in execution and completion of the project.

Replying to a question, he said Balochistan had been facing the issue of extremism and insurgency for the last many years, adding that now the provincial government was holding dialogue with angry locals to improve law and order there.

Besides, he pointed out that the economy and education sectors in Balochistan were not developed for which the provincial government was taking appropriate measures for their reforms.
