imageISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday while reviewing the overall security situation in the country expressed serious apprehensions over recent terrorism incidents and vowed effective action against the perpetrators.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Special Assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi, DG ISI Lt. General Zaheer-ul-Islam, Secretary to PM Javaid Aslam and Additional Secretary to PM Fawad Hassan Fawad here at the PM House.

A statement from the PM House said the meeting reiterated the commitment to take effective action against the perpetrators behind recent incidents of terrorism.

Interior Minister apprised the participants that during the last meeting between dialogues committee, it was emphasized that all-encompassing talks would be conducted with the Taliban Shura and it is high time that the dialogue process achieves tangible results.

"There was unanimous consensus among all the participants that the dialogue process with Taliban should have a concise agenda and dialogue should take place under well defined parameters," the statement released after the meeting said.

DG ISI briefed the Prime Minister about measures taken after recent terrorist attacks and about the overall security situation of the country. General Zaheer-ul-Islam assured that those involved in recent terrorism incidents would be brought to justice and their identity revealed to the people of Pakistan.

Prime Minister lauded the role and efforts of ISI in ensuring the protection and defence of the country, the statement said.
