imageKARACHI: The exhibitors at three-day 10th international exhibition of plastic, printing, packaging and food

equipment and technology, which concluded here on Thursday, called for its proper projection and marketing to make this exhibition as a real trade promoting tool.

The majority of 350 stall-holders of 200 companies including 75 foreign companies while talking to APP correspondent, who gathered their feed-back on the 3rd and last day of the exhibition, said this event should have been properly organized and marketed for mobilization of the business community to produce buyers for the domestic and foreign exhibitors who have come here with lot of their capital in the shape of machinery and equipment besides bearing many expenses and investing their precious time.

They , in general, said the number of visitors and their response was poor. Some exhibitors said that it would have been better if federal and Sindh governments' functionaries were visibly present at the venue to show their commitment for promotion of trade and the private sector.

The representative of Kingswel Machinery ( Kingswel Group of China ) commented that they were here to introduce their products and were satisfied with the visitors' response.

She said " we will participate in the similar exhibition scheduled to be held in Lahore next year."

Abdul Haque Chuhan, representative of Taiwan's Rhymebus Corporation , manufacturing AC Motor Drive, expressed his satisfaction over the market response. " We have fruitful discussions here ," he remarked.

Michael Chen , Sales Manager of China's Suzhou Jwell Machinery Co. Ltd. said that potential customers visited his stall but so far no contract was finalized.

He said, however, more advertisement was needed to attract visitors /customers here.

He said that his company had participated in the international exhibitions in Lahore and they participated for the first time in Karachi.

" We are satisfied but Lahore is better ," he remarked.

Calvein Ni, Sales Manager of China's Guangdong Designer Machinery Co. Ltd. complained of poor response and said lack of advertisement for this important exhibition was the main reason.

" I have participated many times in Pakistan but this event is not good. Lahore is better ," he remarked.

The representative of Plastic Machine (Pvt) Ltd. said: " people hesitate to come here even from Lahore due to law and order situation."

The representative of CHL, Taiwan's machinery manufacturing

company said this is the first time to participate here and had poor market response.

The representative of the Worldly Industrial Co. from Taiwan said : "we have potential customers here and will participate next time in Karachi or Lahore."

Masood Ahmed from Massco-Hengli ( Pakistan) said to have very poor response." We have brought clients at our own expenses," he said.

K-Group of Companies's representative said that they had received good number of orders.

Macpac Films Ltd.'s representative said they were here to familiarize customers and were satisfied with the visitors' turnout. Mirza Waqar Haider from Source International expressed satisfaction and remarked " more business people are coming here."

Eugen Mssner from Germany's Add-X Biotech company suggested that it would have better to hold the exhibition on Friday to Sunday to attract more visitors.

Manager Marketing of Synthetic Products Enterprises Ltd, Muhammad Zaffar Iqbal said the exhibition is poorly designed and also lacked proper marketing.

Mahmoud Al Awar , senior executive for business development , RAK Investment Authority , Government of Ras Al Khaimah, said that his company was here to issue business licenses and the response was very encouraging. Inderjiit Singh , Director from JK Master Batch Private Limited, from New Delhi proposed that the exhibition time should be 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

" In Dubai also , exhibitions are held from afternoon till mid night," he remarked.

He said they had participated twice in Lahore and for the first time in Karachi, and would be visiting Pakistan in future.

On this occasion, Chief Executive Officer, FAKT Exhibitions, Saleem Khan Tanoli said that the expo was organised without government's support.

He urged the government to give the exhibitions sector a status of an industry and patronize it. Exhibitions create soft image of Pakistan globally as number of intentional exhibitors were participating.
