imageISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday said that Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with Brunei Darussalam and desired to further strengthen the bilateral equation in diverse fields for the mutual benefit of the people of two countries.

The President urged the need for concerted steps on both sides to exploit the huge trade and investment potential existing between the two countries.

He was talking to High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam, colonel (retd) Haji Ra'emi Maleek bin Haji Wahab, who called on the President at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Pakistan- Brunei bilateral relations were discussed during the meeting.

The President noting the presence of Pakistani community in Brunei said that Pakistani skilled workforce had been playing a positive role and contributing to the economic development of Brunei. Pakistan was ready to meet Brunei`s additional manpower requirements, he added.

The President observed that bilateral contacts at the highest level had been the hallmark of Pak-Brunei bilateral relations, adding that the government and people of Pakistan were looking forward to a visit by the Sultan of Brunei to Pakistan.

Haji Ra'emi Maleek Bin Haji Wahab thanked the President for meeting.

He said that Brunei Darussalam highly valued its strong ties with Pakistan and assured that bilateral relations would continue strengthening with the passage of time.
