Extortion, dacoities take shape of industry
KARACHI: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Sindh secretary information Mohammad Aslam Ghori said on Saturday that the dacoity at the house of Pakistan Democratic Party central leader Basharat Mirza in a broad daylight is a big challenge to Sindh police.
In a statement, he criticized Sindh police for not controlling crimes like dacoities, extortion and kidnapping for ransom. “The Sindh government also seemed to be failed at every level as dacoits and other criminals are roaming freely in Karachi, who could target any one at any time,” he observed.
He said that kidnapping for ransom, extortion and dacoities have taken the shape of an industry in Karachi as the traders were being killed and their offices, factories and other business places attacked with bombs for not paying extortion.
