SIALKOT: Federal Minister for National Regulations and Services Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan along with Director General Postal Services Corporation Ghulam Panjtan Rizvi on Sunday inaugurated the newly established postal service office at Kuba Chak.
On this occasion the Director General Postal Services Corporation apprised the federal Minister about the postal services and its networking across the country.
He said that efforts were being made for making postal network more effective and tracking it on modern lines to facilitate masses. At present there 12000 post offices were working across the country of which ten thousand post offices successfully functioning in rural areas, he disclosed. Later, the Federal Minister Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan along with Director General Central Directorate National Savings Zafar Mahmood Sheikh inaugurated newly established National Saving Centre at Kuba Chak.
The Director General on this occasion informed the Federal Minister that National Saving had provided the revenue amounting to Rs. 1300 billion to the government and its account holders are 750 million across the country.
