ISLAMABAD: Leader of the House in Senate Muhammad Jehngir Bader on Wednesday assured that free, fair and transparent elections would be held on its due course of time.
He told APP that it was a good omen while a democratic political party was about to complete its tenure, first time in the political history of Pakistan. But some forces have been trying to put obstacles on its way since so long but their exercise would prove useless.
Bader emphasized that the transitional government would be formed through consensus with all major political parties and ballot was only the solution for strengthening democracy in the country.
"PPP is a party of the people, by the people and for the people. It has always struggled for the rights of common people and sacrificed many a precious lives for the restoration and establishment of democracy in the country", he said.
He also expressed the hope that PPP would sweep in the next general elections with a gigantic mandate.
