NEWTOWN: The children gunned down at an elementary school along with six adults were six and seven years old, police said Saturday.
The massacre left 16 six year olds dead along with four seven year olds, according to a list of the victims released by Connecticut State Police.
Twelve of the 20 slain children were girls and eight were boys.
The six adults killed by the lone gunman in Friday's shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School were all women. The dead included the school principal. The eldest victim, school psychologist March Sherlach, was 56 years old.
