ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Tariq Malik has said that the authority and the Election Commission of Pakistan were making efforts for transparent voters lists to conduct free, fair elections.
"The NADRA is making error free CNIC for the people of the country, " he said.
"Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is making registration of the people to ensure error free voter lists, " he added.
He said that both the institutions were working in their respective areas to conduct free, fair, and transparent elections in the country.
He said "We have introduced multi-bio matrix data base system to maintain transparency for voting and to remove the objection raised by political parties."
Replying to a question, he said that both institutions NADRA and ECP were working to make transparent voters lists for Karachi.
He said that there was no harm to verify the voters lists in Karachi.
Tariq Malik said "We are managing transparent data base system and census bureau can verify data regarding population and voting ratio."
Replying to another question, he said "We have set up 12 registration centers exclusively for women for getting their CNIC."
