ISLAMABAD: The Kind Must Die - a collection of exquisite miniature works was put on display here Thursday by artist Asif Ahmed for art lovers of twin cities at Tanzara Art gallery.
Asif Ahmed stands prominent amongst the new genre of miniature painters, who have evolved from the traditional miniature to a new dynamic art form, termed as "contemporary miniature".
As a contemporary image-maker, Ahmed wishes to push artistic limits through varied aesthetic thoughts and visual explorations of select socio-political and cultural issues.
He has built his own individual body of symbolism that addresses itself through a soul searching process. He has complete mastery of interweaving concept with the image he creates. Symbols such as the emperor's head, skulls, elephants and insects all appear as elements to make a profound statement. His skill is meticulously employed to create each `jewel- like' piece.
Asif Ahmed's works have been widely exhibited home and abroad and are in private and public collections worldwide while current exhibition is the First solo show of artist at the Federal capital. The exhibition will continue till December 8.
