FBR collects Rs584.8bn in first four months

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected Rs 584.8 billion in first four months, while target of Rs 2381 billion revenue collection was set for the current fiscal year.

State Minister for Production Khawaja Sheraz Mahmood said this while responding to a calling attention notice moved by Abdul Rashid Godil of MQM regarding collection, revision and cut in tax collection target. He said that the FBR had collected Rs 506 billion in first four months of previous fiscal year.

He said that the FBR has not yet revised collection target and its performance remained quite satisfactory. He said that target fixed by the government for the current fiscal year was almost 26 percent higher as compared to last financial year. He said that FBR makes massive collection in May and June of every year.

Answering to a question, the Minister said that FBR is taking steps on regular basis for broadening the tax base.
