rehman-malikPESHAWAR, Oct 10 (APP): Federal Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik said the attackers who shot Malala Yousafzai have been identified and will soon be brought to justice.

 

Talking to newsmen soon after inquiring after health of Malala Yousafzai here at CMH on Wednesday, Rehman Malik said the attackers were identified.

 

About the condition of Malala, Rehman Malik said according to doctors she is out of danger and next 48 hours are very important.

 

He also informed that plan of shifting Malala to foreign country has been deferred as the Medical Board has decided that air travelling at this stage is not suitable and may be risky.

 

Rehman Malik said all the leading neurosurgeons of Pak Army and civil are present at the CMH Peshawar for treatment of Malala.

 

"We have full trust in our doctors and don not want to undermine their credibility", he added.

 

However, if need arise we will take her abroad for treatment, the minister said.

 

He said President Asif Ali Zardari has issued strict directives for providing all possible treatment to the injured girl.

 

In this regard, he added, a top neurosurgeon in America and London are ready to travel to Pakistan for treatment of Malala if needed.

 

He also appreciated Chief of Army Staff, Gen Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani for issuing special directives for providing emergency treatment to Malala at CMH.

 

He appealed the nation to offer special prayers for the early recovery of the injured innocent girl who stood against tyranny of militants in her Swat and exposed their dark faces through writing blog in social media.

 

In response to a question about lack of security to Malala who become vulnerable after raising voice against Taliban, the minister said district government offered thrice for provision of security, but her parents refused.       However, it is decided that she will be provided full security in future.

 

He urged the ulema to openly condemn acts of terrorism such as attack on female and even minor girls.

 

He said people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have suffered the most due to militancy in the country.    The Information Minister of KP, Mian Iftikhar has lost his lone son due to his strong opposition to militancy.     Almost all the houses in KP have been affected because of insurgency and militancy, he added.

 

Rehman Malik eulogized the courage and bravery of people of the province.     The KP Chief Minister, he said, is also working day and night with steadfastness for curbing militancy from the region.

 

In response to a question about intensification of terrorists activities, the Minister said in the past few weeks terrorists have become active and in this connection, the government has approached government of Afghanistan for taking effective measures to stop infiltrations from across the border.

 

He said we are aware of the fact the attackers of the innocent girl belonged to TTP and they arrived from the route of Kunar to Bajaur and Swat via Dir.      

 

Regarding launching of military operation in North Waziristan, Rehman Malik said the government will take this decision in well national interest at suitable time.      Where ever any terrorist was found, action will be taken, he added.

 

He stressed upon the nation to be well aware of the intentions of militants who are using the name of Islam to win peoples' sympathies for their ulterior motives.    Is this is Islam to attack and shoot a minor girl, he questioned.

 

Rehman Malik also appreciated the response of people against terrorism and attack over Malala.     He said the whole nation is united and condemning the incident. I have received countless messages on social media and people are stressing for proper treatment to the daughter of the nation.

 

Nation will soon witness strict action against those sponsoring terrorist, money launders and those who provide shelter to them.

 

He also asked the people to fully cooperate with Police in pointing suspicious people living in their surrounding. He said without the support of people and community policing, government cannot succeed in fight against militancy.
