ISLAMABAD: Afghan President Hamid Karzai telephoned Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday and extended Eid greetings.
Both the leaders reiterated their resolve to work for peace and stability in the region.
Prime Minister Ashraf told President Karzai that his government was firmly committed to a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan.
The Prime Minister thanked the Afghan President for his call and extended Eid greetings to him, a statement from the PM House said.
He also conveyed his government's desire to further strengthen their existing brotherly relations.
Emphasizing enhanced interaction between the two countries in the days ahead, the Prime Minister said he was looking forward to meet him in the near future
