PM congratulates Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim on his oath as Chief Election Commissioner

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Monday congratulated Justice (retired) Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim on taking oath as Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).

The Prime Minister in a message said the appointment of Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim as CEC would ensure free, fair and transparent elections which was a long cherished goal of all political parties, democratic forces, civil society and media.

He said forthcoming election would be truly reflective of people's choice and would provide no chance to raise questions on its credibility.

Justice (retd) Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim is an eminent Pakistani jurist and constitutional expert. He has also served previously as Federal Law Minister, Attorney General of Pakistan, judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and Governor of Sindh
