dowwwwwKARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh decided to allocate Rs 60.00 million development schemes per MPA. There was an allocation of Rs 40.00 million schemes for each MPA, now all 169 MPAs will be allocated the funds.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that the Government of Sindh has also decided that funds worth Rs 40.00 million schemes are being allocated for all 75 Members of National Assembly (MNAs) belonging to Sindh province.

Sindh Chief Minister directed the Planning and Development Department to expedite approval of schemes, while Finance Department should release the funds accordingly.

It was also decided that 14 reserve seats of members of National Assembly and 31 reserve seats of women for provincial assembly will be released 50 percent allocation.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah added that it was decided to release 50 percent funds in the month of July and 50 percent funds to be released in January every year so as to maintain standard and quality of such schemes and completion of the same in stipulated time.

The meeting was informed that due to heavy rains and presence of water on lands, and roads, the utilisation of funds for initiating development schemes was delayed.

It was also informed that the total allocation of Annual Development Programme was Rs 111.00 billion, out of which Rs 35.55 billion were released and there is an expenditure of only Rs 11.08 billion. Sindh Chief Minister reviewed progress with regard to utilisation of

funds and results of development schemes of various departments particularly the Education, Health Department and Works and Services Department, and expressed overall satisfaction.

It was decided that a meeting of all departments will be convened soon to review over all progress of development schemes pertaining to those departments.

The Chief Minister warned that severe disciplinary action will be taken against the officers involved in negligence, carelessness and in non-utilisation of funds on time.

It was informed that Works and Services Department was allocated Rs 11,000.00 million, out of which there was release of Rs 5753.531, million and so far Rs 2549.321 million was the expenditure.

Secretary Works and Services informed that about 2500 Kms of roads have been damaged and for rehabilitation and reconstruction, an amount of Rs 9.00 billion will be required. He added that the Works and Services Department has fixed three priorities for rehabilitation plan.

He added that work under priority one will be started within 15 days and maximum schemes will be completed upto the end of June 2012.

Sindh Chief Minister stressed to expedite the road works so as to provide facilities to agriculturists particularly the roads of farm to market so that the agriculture produce is brought to the market.

He said that the government is doing lot towards relief and rehabilitation work in rain affected areas and provision of funds for affected families through Pakistan Cards.

The Chief Minister also directed the newly posted Chief Engineer Buildings Hyderabad to complete the task of work on shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar at Sewhan Sharif within the time frame. He also directed that there should be prompt monitoring of development schemes.

The incharge of monitoring section informed that 952 schemes have been monitored which include 150 schemes in highways sector.

Sindh Chief Minister directed that the roads be constructed in a way that there should be no water on roads. He also directed that the road from Nawabshah to Ranipur be constructed and completed early.
