Bangladesh October FX reserves rise, but may fall again
DHAKA : Bangladesh 's foreign exchange reserves rose to $10.34 billion at the end of October from a two-year low of $9.
DHAKA: Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserves rose to $10.34 billion at the end of October from a two-year low of $9.88 billion in September, but were down from $11.16 billion a year earlier, the central bank said on Tuesday.
However, the reserves are likely to fall again this month because of scheduled bi-monthly import payments to the Asian Clearing Union, a senior central bank official said.
The foreign exchange reserves came under pressure from soaring import costs while exports and remittances grew more slowly amid signs of a cooling global economy.
